Overview

Take a walk through history around Albuquerque's original central plaza, the serene village that has been the focal point of community life since 1706. Quiet hidden patios, winding brick paths, gardens and balconies are waiting to be discovered. Wrought iron and adobe bancos (benches) beckon you to rest in the shade and watch people stroll. Unique items from around the world, as well as those distinctively Southwestern, can be found in more than 100 shops and boutiques.

We stopped by there for one night. Old town was fun, it's different from the rest of the city. The shops were fun to look at. We would go back there when we get a chance.

A place like no other....by Yahoo | 2007-07-11 00:01:50 |

We really enjoyed walking around looking in the different shops. And when you are at Old Town make sure to stop and eat at Church Street Cafe. Being from Texas we eat and I cook alot of mexican food, but the mexican food is much lighter then what we eat here...

CHARMING OLD TOWNby Yahoo | 2007-05-31 20:15:10 |

The charm of Old Town is unparalled. You could spend days there shopping, dining and just taking in the whole Native American experience. I absolutely loved it. I've been there 3 times and can't wait to go back again. Pam O. Minneapolis, MN

Just average...by Yahoo | 2007-05-30 03:01:45 |

The parking is horrible and it was way too crowded. Many of the shops were over priced and we were able to get a better deal in Santa Fe. We took the "Ghost" tour and found it to be okay. the guide was hard to hear and wasn't very knowledgeable about the paranormal outside of the script that she had obviously memorized. it got boring towards the end.

Lame Ghost Tour but good restaurantsby Yahoo | 2007-04-11 05:31:55 |

Being an avid fan of ghost tours i was very excited to return to Old Town to take the ghost tour again. However, things have changed allot in three years. The original ghost tour company is no longer there. There was another ghost tour but it was very lame. The guides claimed to be "Ghost Hunters" but had no working knowledge of things that your typical "Ghosthunting 101" website would cover. Paranormal enthusiasts can see right through that kind of act. The stories are not the same and sound like they have been exaggerated or even made up. Fortunately, the Church Street Cafe is still there and I was able to have some great New Mexican Style food the following evening.

Nice place to take visitors from out of town.by Yahoo | 2006-12-06 01:16:01 |

Old town is a good place to take your out of town guests. Sometimes my wife and I go there after church on Sunday mornings. I gets boring after a while. Shops never really change what they are selling.

Excellent place to spend a leisurely afternoon.by Yahoo | 2006-10-24 17:56:19 |

Old Town has a wide variety of shops for every budget (I especially liked the Angel Store), a pleasant plaza and a beautiful old church. There are a number of museums within walking distance. I didn't try any of the restaraunts, but there seem to be plenty of them and the food smelled wonderful. The area was rather crowded when I was there, but that might have been because my visit accidentally coincided with the International Balloon Festival. I will certainly go back if I find myself in Albuquerque again.

A must seeby Yahoo | 2006-10-12 16:47:10 |

Visiting Old Town was like another plaza in NM. We had been to Taos and Sanfe Fe, both of which have plaza that are very similar....so in one way it is like the other two. It is however, something you just gotta do if you go to ABQ
