Despite the fact cafe Nol tries to be an authentic place where the locals used to be and enjoy their beer and original Jordaan and other Dutch music nowadays it's being hyped as a place to be for tourists and students. I've been there yesterday, I can tell you there were too many people (couldn't move), awful music and the bouncer was throwing people out for no good reason. And that wasn't just it, when we deceided to leave Nol the bouncer was holding his hand in front of me as he was begging for something. I didn't have any small change left so i just said good bye. The typical Amsterdam bouncer responded with a reminder to give him money next time you leave Nol.....I say there will be no next time...
Great place to meet real Amsterdamers. no other tourists on the night we visited, had a ball trying to outsing the dutch! Every one very friendly - would definately go back
