Overview
This 110-acre garden includes native perennials, an enclosed herb garden and an outdoor rock garden. Created in 1991 by volunteers, the garden has become an educational resource as well as a stunning showcase of Alaskan plants and wildflowers. Paths throughout allow for easy travel and a 1.2-mile hike provides views of the Chugach Mountains, a natural wetland and nearby Campbell Creek. One unusual feature is a still-used dog-mushing trail that travels through the garden. Guided tours are available upon request.
Open Hours
- Monday to Sunday from 09:00 AM to 09:00 PM
Peaceful spot
We loved this stop. The gardens are beautifully maintained, all done by volunteers. There are many lovely trails that wander all throughout the area. Don't miss the herb garden. I could have wandered the area for hours.
