Overview
Situated several miles south of downtown, the Lakewood Amphitheathre (formerly the Coca-Cola Lakewood Amphitheater and HiFi Buys Amphitheater) is used for large festivals and musical shows in Atlanta. In the past performances by Elton John, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and other contemporary and classical artists have graced the venue. The venue encompasses 5000 roofed seats, 2000 more without, and space for 12,000 on the sloping lawn. This is the venue that i will remember the most in atlanta. I have seen so many great shows here. Nice outdoor venue with a huge lawn to relax on between shows/sets. most of the seats are covered. Located in a not so good part of town(although it is pretty safe) but once you are in the gates you forget all about it. i would recomend riding marta to get there.
