Overview

An extravagant staircase leading up from the street entrance welcomes you to this restaurant in the fully restored Hurt Building, built in 1913. A club-like atmosphere pervades throughout, from the marble entrance to the lively piano bar. The menu changes daily, offering an excellent selection of seafood and beef dishes prepared with Southern-style gourmet touches. Try the Southern fried quail or any number of crab cake variations. An extensive list of American and European wines is available.

        Nicely furnished, ornately done, but not overdone, the ambiance was great. The waitstaff was attentive without being bothersome. The food was outstanding, and I was very surprised it was not busy for a Saturday night, and it was a tremendous value. They have private rooms avaiable for functions, and we were able to look in one as we have a function coming up, and this might be the place to have it. The piped in music could have been turned up a bit, or live piano would have been nice. All in all a very enjoyable time.
