An Atlanta institution since 1927, the Colonnade sets the table with some of the best Southern food in the city. The gingham-curtained dining room hasn't changed since the 1950s, with vinyl booths, big family tables and waitresses who call you "sugar." Traditional entrees such as fried chicken, pork roast and meatloaf are complimented by classic Dixie sides; the fried okra, sweet potatoes, three-day beans and highly addictive rolls should all be sampled. A full bar is located in back for the happy hour crowd. Credit cards are not accepted.
