The store has a good selection and atmosphere, but the customer service is terrible. I purchased a couch for $2,000 and was promised delivery on a specific date. The furniture was not delivered and no one at the store seemed to know what was going on or seemed to care about my situation. 3 weeks after the original delivery date I was finally given the name and number for the owner. He never returned my calls and even worse, through his staff he communicated he would not refund my money. No one at the store, and definitely not the owner care about their customers. Please check the Better Business Bureau to validate this claim. There are numerous complaints for similar activity, none of which have been resolved. I do not trust this store to deliver on ANY of its promises or claims.

We ordered furniture on May 31, with a (they said) pessimistic shipping date of July 21. We are now September 26 and no shipping in sight. Calls are not answered, emails are not answered, when we do talk to store employees or managers they are rude and when we called the factory, we found out the furniture is ready for shipment. MD, for some reason, just does not want to give the go ahead. Better Business Bureau has lodged 3 complaints regarding the same issue with different people. Avoid!

I love the selection in Metropolitan Deluxe (VaHi store). They carry a great selection of unique items including cards, books, flowers, furniture, fabrics, etc. What a fun store! And they stay open late! Always a plus for a late night shopper like me. That being said, when I went to purchase a set of martini glasses as a wedding gift, I was disappointed in the "gift box". They didn't have gift boxes! The cashier ran down to the storage room and brought up an ugly, brown, corrugated box with packing tape all over it. It wasn't a gift box. She said they didn't have gift boxes. What? Wait! I thought this was a gift store. Then to make it worse, she wrapped the beautiful blue martini glasses in orange Halloween paper even after I told her it was a wedding gift. Come on! Get some gift boxes. Sell them even. I'll pay for a gift box.
