Overview

Founded in 1976, this 15-acre (six-hectare) expanse of natural wonder is located adjacent to Piedmont Park. A hardwood forest intertwined with walking trails surrounds the Fuqua Conservatory, which houses a Japanese garden, rock garden, and displays of flora from all over the globe. In addition to the Southeast's most comprehensive showing of indigenous plants, the conservatory maintains an amazing collection of carnivorous specimens and roses. Moonlight garden walks and seasonal shows are also sponsored.

I'm not really a flower person but I acutally enjoyed the Gardens. It was very pretty, well layed-out and lots to see. Nice hiking, bike riding trails and right across from the park. The Gardens are very beautiful!

the gardens are beautiful and very well kept. absolutely loved it, and will go next time I am in atlanta. My husband and I were honeymooning in atlanta, and found the gardens very romantic and can't wait to go again.

We enjoyed this beautiful oasis in the middle of the city, and highly recommend it. We brought friends who were visiting from Wisconsin and they were amazed at what was blooming so early in the spring.

This was my best spent $12. The varieties of plants are amazing and the Botanical Garden offers them to you in a relaxing, educational self guided tour. Very glad I went there and would go every weekend if I lived there.

Definitely worth the tripby Yahoo | 2005-10-03 16:51:57 |

We were lucky enough to be in town during the Dale Chihouli exhibit. But the Gardens would have been worth the cab ride anyway. A very peaceful, enchanting place.

Loved the atmosphere and beauty of this place. Between the gardens and to tropical feel of the indoors, this was a terrific place. My wife and I love visiting here and try to make it at least once a year.

Love the featuresby Yahoo | 2005-10-01 13:59:08 |

In addition to the two major attractions at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens--the Orchids and the greenhouse--they feature different artists, local and international throughout the garden. Very interesting and beautiful pieces and it makes walking through an otherwise large "park" exciting and focused.

Convenient location, terrific exhibits, friendly staff. The Children's Garden is worthwhile even if you don't have kids who need something especially geared to them.
