Mission Bay is a popular place on fine summer weekends. The wide beach, recently restored with white sand from Pakiri beach, provides excellent swimming. The grassy domain running behind the beach, complete with playground, provides an excellent picnic spot. There are many lively cafes, restaurants, takeaway bars and pubs catering to all tastes and budgets, just across the road. Giant Norfolk pines, planted by Bishop Selwyn 150 years ago, provide welcome shade on a hot day.Open Hours

i hv been there once. I'm really like this bay same as Taupo lake. i love the sun! its warm n peaceful. even though i jux spent a couple hour there, i enjoy n love it.hope ican back there!

Though Mission Bay was a great place to relax, great beach, Shops and View. We are from Manchester England on holiday and are thinking of moving to NZ - that's the place to live
one place that you can sleep and down stress....yeah..but i think about price of it...may be it not good for people not have enough money he he

mission bay is a jewel in auckland's crown.it is only 15 minutes from downtown yet you could be anywhere,it has a nice clean beach with a playground for the kids,gas barbeque's and lovely clean toilets,also it has some nice cafe's and bars for an exclusive avante garde feel.......lovely
