Overview

Situated on the rim of an active volcano, Mount Batur, Kintamani Village overlooks the spectacular crater lake of Lake Batur. Several restaurants on the rim offer a wonderful uninhibited vantage point to soak up the breathtaking vista. Often shrouded in mist and much cooler than the coast, it is an excellent fruit growing area. Other points of interest include the morning market, held every three days, guided hiking tours and the journey down into the caldera, past the lunar landscape of black pumice and lava rocks to the hot springs at the edge of the lake.

It was beautiful! Even when I saw it in the rain. The drive to the top felt like a real adventure and the lack of crowds made it very peaceful and relaxing. Take the drive out across the coldara! How did they put a road in there?? I loved the drive, the view, the whole experience. I was extremely short on time (in between business trips), so did not stay to dine in town, but I did pay the small price to swim in town in the hot springs. What a treat! If I had more time, I definately would have explored the volcano more and taken the hike around (marked trail). I would definately return!

I like coz about the view that amazing, and the people that so nice..and u can try to lunch for the restaurant that we are stay in the mountain...
