Overview

This Banff museum celebrates the history and culture of the Plains Indians. Wander through the gallery and learn about their life, their contact with Europeans and their spirituality. This beautiful lakeside museum features displays of Native Canadian bead work and clothing, quill work, weapons and hunting implements, musical instruments and photographs. The life-size displays of daily life and special ceremonies are especially interesting.

    A fascinating insight.by Yahoo | 2005-07-02 13:12:12 |

We found it a most interesting place. WE were surprised that without us asking, we were invited to take as many photos as we wanted. It gave us a new perspective on Indian history and culture. It also made us feel rather guilty about what had been done to a fine people. They clearly respect the land and animals on ,it and we have very nearly destroyed that. There is also some very attractive artwork. I cannot commend this facility highly enough.
