Overview

Staying here, you will feel like you are reliving a scene from a James Bond movie. The Peninsula Bangkok simply has more electronic gadgetry than any other major hotel, calling it "guest comfort technology." The hotel offers affordable rates without compromising on quality of service. A boat shuttle takes you to and from the main part of town, and for the most part it lives up to its storied name.

An outstanding experience on our first visit to Thailand.by Yahoo | 2008-01-01 11:09:17 |

The staff were totally wonderful. The view from our bedroom window over the river at night was breathtaking. Watching tv in the bath is different. The screen is above the bathtub. The room service and food presentation was faultless.

Stayed at the hotel on October 22nd. I look foward to my return in due course.by Yahoo | 2007-11-11 22:48:03 |

Personally, I was impressed with the warmth and friendlyness of the staff. Bellmen and doormen very gracious. Service was second to none. Room very comfortable and well appointed. Nothing to dislike. Wisit was our driver of our limosine from Laem Chabang seaport. He is a true ambassador of the property and Bangkok. WBE

Peninsula Bangkok has redefined the standards of hotels. This is probably the best hotel in the world, maybe better than the mother property in Hong Kong. All is top. The new Spa is fantastic, food has a top reputation on all the planet, rooms excellent. Top. The cherry on the cake : try the afternoon tea, then you will explain to all hotels GM around the world what is a High Tea. Book and go now, as it is the cheapest palace in the world.

Best hotel I have ever been .... not even closeby Yahoo | 2007-07-20 19:35:29 |

Little priceyby Yahoo | 2006-08-17 12:09:56 |

Stayed here last Nov(05) I just thought it was over priced..Nice place but maybe its due to the fact I live in a resort area in usa and hospitality is 99% of our business and our beach resorts cater to our guest..This year im staying at Banyan resort in Bkk..Hope I made the right choice.Front desk is way under trained....

Best hotel in Bangkokby Yahoo | 2006-07-10 15:36:56 |

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we can't wait to go back. It is, by far, the best hotel we have ever stayed for the money. Here's why. First of all, we were treated with class and respect from the very start. Though my wife and I are fairly young (late 20's and mid 20's), we experienced no snobbery from what a relatively posh hotel. After a long flight, we were picked up in a new Benz with cold drinks and warm towels waiting in the car. Once at the hotel, we discovered the rooms to be welcoming and comfortable, and the room service was excellent. Furthermore, the concierge service was top notch. Again, with class and respect, I told her of the events my wife and I wanted to do and about our trip to Chiangmai. She got us the best tickets at Lumpini Arena for muay-thai matches, recommended to us terrific restaurants, and best of all, she booked tickets for us to Chiangmai and for our return trip. Secondly, I think the location of the hotel across the river works to its advantage. We took the boat across the river every morning to catch the train, but it gave us a sense of seclusion from the rest of Bangkok. Last but not least, the hotel amenities were an excellent break from the bustling and noisy city scene. The pools and spa were very relaxing. Also, the free brunch (not sure if it's still free) was top notch. If you plan on going to Bangkok, don't hesitate to book a room at this hotel. I'd recommend a room with a view over the river. You won't be sorry.

Best views of the riverby Yahoo | 2006-07-09 19:44:59 |

Unlike most of the other riverside hotels, the Peninsula is on the OTHER side of the river. Adding to the fact that the hotel is designed with a W shape and all the rooms face the river, this gives you great views of the river and of the Bangkok side which is far more interesting. Rooms are very luxurious and service is likewise impeccable befitting a Peninsula. Great breakfast buffet is offered.

Best Hotel in Asiaby Yahoo | 2006-05-21 10:11:50 |

The most espensive hotel in Bangkok but amazing! Rooms have every amenity you can think of. Quite simply you get what you pay for!! Would highly recommend this hotel.

Truly the Best in the Worldby Yahoo | 2006-03-24 14:56:40 |

I stayed at the Penninsula Bangkok in December 2003 for business. That year it was ranked the best in the world. I agree with that 100%. I do alot of travel for business and will say nothing beats the Peninsula Bangkok. The service was outstanding. The rooms were unbelievable. The food was excellent everyday. The location is also perfect. Take the Peninsula boat across the river. You can hop on the train and go to the night market. The train is safe even for women. The infinity pool is magnificant. They bring you drinks and refill your water nonstop. I fell asleep under the little canapy by the pool and they still brought me fresh water. The view from the room was fascinating. I recommend this hotel to everyone. If you are in Bangkok you must stay at the Peninsula. It is worth the money.

over pricedby Yahoo | 2006-02-19 12:15:09 |

Nice looking and clean place..Service at front desk very un quilified and unfriendly. Imagine these over priced rated and they pay their average worker $5-$7 us dallors a day.No wonder the front desk staff acted so un-friendley..They didnt even know how to process a American express debit card..Also hope no one of importance is checking in or out as you are because your lugange will wait at the curb until their special quest is catered too..Buffet is great also ..Of course it is..might want to ask the cost before you sit an eat..They seem to hide prices..lovely suprises wait you....House keeping is GREAT...
