Never seen so much mould and condensation!!!!!by Yahoo | 2009-12-31 11:18:22 |

We stayed at the almond casuarina in a superior deluxe room. It was awful and we would never return. On arrival we expected a lot more and the staff were friendly however the room was uninhabitable. Two days into the holiday the room began showing signs of mould, it got so bad that the bed sheets were constantly wet, the walls were dripping from condensation, the lamp got so mouldy it began looking like the design! When we complained the room was cleaned and the mould was wiped down however two days later the mould and condensation returned. Our phone charger stopped working as it had got wet inside from the condensation and when we complained the response was most unhelpful, rude and dismissive. Days past and the mould and condensation got worse, our clothes began to smell damp and were wet. Constant complaints and continued asking for the manager to attend to our room finally led to us moving rooms on the very last night. When we packed our bags and carried them to the new room it had been double booked! We had to go back to our old room and wait for a new one to be allocated. We finally moved rooms and in the early hours of the morning a member of staff had opened our room door and came inside with guests. What a surprise, they had double booked the room again! This was not unusual as many guests had said the same had happended to them. We were in room 3209 so if you get this room ask to be moved instantly. We also had spoken to people in block 1 who had similar problems with wet bed sheets and condensation. We would never return to this hotel and do not recommend it to anyone. We paid £3600 for two weeks and what a waste of money this was. There was also other issues with the hotel but we think the above is enough to say it is not worth going there!!! Entertainment was boring, repetative and not worth having!!

THE WORST HOTEL SOUTH OF THE BORDERby Yahoo | 2009-12-17 23:08:20 |

OMG! This was the worst experience EVER. The food was mediocre. The hotel campus was mediocre. All they do all day is make a whole bunch of noise. The Service is horrible. I was sooooo ready to catch an earlier flight out of here and back to the states. They charge you all this money per night but it doesnt even come w/internet service. They dont have any wireless capabilities and if you want to use the internet you have two choices: pay US $25/for 30 minutes in their lobby or pay US $20/day in your room, but thats only if you remember to bring your laptop. We visited everyone of the Almond properties and was disaapointed by all. The Beach and Club propoerty is a DUMP. Everything is decades old and filth with bugs everywhere. No elevators whatsoever. The Village property was big as heck but messy as heck as well. I am so dissatisfied b/c this trip was no where near how much money it costed. The taxi drivers are horny, perverted devils who cheat you. They charge you $30 BDS to go 1 minute up the street and back to the local gas station. The locals drive dangerously fast. The city is poor and very outdated. They need to join with US Virgin Islands or become a British country again so that they can build up. The staff are comprised mostly of women who are jealous of all American and Jamaican women b/c the Bajan men are so taken by us.

Worst Service Everby Yahoo | 2009-05-27 16:32:19 |

Beautiful Hotel, beautiful beach, beautiful island. Worst service imaginable. I have too many incidents to list but suffice to say that by day 3, we did our dining and drinking off of the resort. Save yourself the frustration and avoid.

Amazing vacation!!by Yahoo | 2007-07-31 12:15:23 |

Incredible eco-friendly resort. They made such an effort to protect the enviroment, while providing a gorgeous, comfortable resort.Beaches are set up for turtle nesting, and sun bathing. If you get up early you can see the turtles going back into the sea.Swam with sea turtles in the waves.Wonderful food.Helpful charming staff.Would highly recommeded for anyone.Family friendly too.

WAS 5 Star - now????by Yahoo | 2007-03-12 00:41:54 |

Casuarina was a great place as is Barbados. We have been going at least once a year since 1987 and it was a sad day to hear that Almond bought the facilty. We will not return as it is an all-inclusive and there is absolutely no need for that while in Barbados!

pricey. did not receive the hospitality paid for. the best hotels in europe are less expensive but still try to do a better job in the areas of class and style.would not stay there again

the casurina beach club barbados is the best hotel i have been to! i have been 2 barbados now for 12 years every christmas and every year we went to the casurina along wif a number of other people! i got to no everyone there in barbados including the maids there, the people behind the bar, the playroom, and regie the activites man! It was like my second home there but ever since it has been bought by almond beach clubs i havent been back because it is now all inclusive along with many of the other people who used to also go there!

These photos not of Almond Casuarina Beach clubby Yahoo | 2007-01-01 18:25:12 |

Hi, I saw this link on Yahoo travel on Jan.01/2007 and can tell you those are not photos of Almond Casuarina Beach club. They are in fact very old photos of Casuarina Beach club from many years ago. Even the Catamaran is Capt. Sam's old boat and one has a sail from 10 years ago. Casuarina Beach club was bought out in 2005 by Almond Beach and the new Almond Casuarina beach club does not look like these photos after extensive renos.

Was excellent til got sold!by Yahoo | 2006-07-10 16:37:37 |

I used to go to the casuarina every christmas and made alot of great friends there who went every year which was alot of people. The staff were laid back but this is the bajan lifestyle and made you realise you had to relax and chill out on holiday. it was full of things to do during the day. the activity crew were ace i.e reggie always smiling and energetic and friendly. there were people of all ages here. kids enjoying them selfs with kids there age and there parents just relaxing all day. the pool was ok but the beach was about 75 metres away so it was ideal. and then there was youths from 13 to 21 just hanging out and having a laugh! that has all changed now cos the owner who was very friendly and always looking after the gardens and customers sold up to a bigger company/hotel group. and now the almond beach club has taken over and are doing it all up and spoiling it. there making it all inclusive and are gonna ruin the friendly lifestyle. Most of the people i know have moved down the beach to the bouganvilia hotel. which is very nice and friendly. so if ur looking for a posh boring hotel then go to almond casurina. but if ur looking for a friendly welcoming anyone welcome hotel then go to the bouganvillia. and ive been going to barbados for 8 years now so i know the place.
