An awe-inspiring 15th-century watchtower is the setting for this delightful gallery. Cutting-edge works of modern Chinese art play off the cavernous interior and classical columns and beams of Ming dynasty architecture. Oils, inks, acrylics, sculptures, photography, printmaking and performance art by some of today's best-known artists are displayed. Red gate has gained an international reputation for showcasing the work of new and emerging Chinese artists and introducing them to the world.
