Overview

Once the ticket office for the sightseeing boats which sailed down the Landwehrkanal canal, Ankerklause is now one of Berlin's most happening bars. The interior reflects the 'anti-fashion' concept of the nineties, but this seems to go down well with the punters, who start to pour in as early as midday after a visit to the nearby market. The atmosphere is very Kreuzberg, although Ankerklause is actually located in the neighboring district of Neukölln.

Fun place!by Yahoo | 2007-10-01 14:54:20 |

A good friend lives nearby, so we made frequent visits while I was visiting a few years back. Hanging over the Landwher Canal, it is a unique little bar which hosts a few hot 70s to modern pop dance nights. Drinks are cheap and flow quickly, music is great and it attracts a funky fun crowd. Don't worry about going alone if you're travelling solo, as the people there are very friendly and you'll make friends in no time.
