Overview
The Middle Eastern Museum is housed inside the Pergamon Museum on Museum Island. The permanent exhibition is made up of items excavated by German archaeologists between 1888 and 1939. The finds are of great importance as they form a comprehensive collection which offers an insight into over 8,000 years of Near Eastern history (4th Century BCE - 4th Century CE). The museum's treasures include Persian and Assyrian memorials, reliefs, sculptures and smaller works of art. The highlight is the facade of a Babylonian royal palace from circa 580 BC.Open Hours
