Located in a beautiful bourgeois house in a typically bourgeois street, Le Cochon Bourgeois is a relatively new addition to Berlin's gastronomic scene. The decor is simple, the atmosphere cozy and the food exquisite. Berliners flock here to gorge on delicacies such as Bouillabaisse with garlic bread or Breast of Quail on artichoke risotto. The critics love it as well. A fine selection of German wine is available.

I went to this place a couple of times now and will stop by every now and then as the chef is one of the most talented in town. The service is excellent and if you ask the restaurant manager for his thoughts on which wine to choose, you sure won't be disappointed. I spoke to the chef about restaurant rankings and his position among his competitors and he told me that he has been offered a star in the guide micheline once but refused as the jury asked him to put blankets on his tables. He told me that, "...it just wouldn't feel right."

the chef has inferior skills and is unresponsive to customers. arrrogance married with incompetence. don't wast your money in this place. i feels sorry for the pleasant staff. the low quality of the food is not their fault. they deserve a better employer.
