Overview

The National Sea Life Centre is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. One of the most thrilling things about this aquarium is its 360° transparent tunnel, which lets you stand in the middle of the ocean while sharks and other aquatic life forms swim around you. There are 55 displays in total, including the "Kingdom of the Seahorse" and "Claws," featuring the giant Japanese spider crab amongst other fearsome crustaceans.

Open Hours

Mo to Fr from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, Sa to Su from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM

WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!!by Yahoo | 2008-07-04 19:45:54 |

Upon entry you didn't know which way to go. After paying a £26 entrance fee for an adult and one child of 9 years and then £4 for a programme, we entered Sea Life expecting to see some amazing creatures in a full under water surrounding. It took us just 20 minutes to stroke a crab, see an 8 inch shark, and a few fish which to be quiet honest you could see at a Garden Centre or pet shop for free and all of it was only under 12 foot of water! It was the biggest rip off ever and left my son totally disappointed and bored! Don't waste your money, you would be better off taking your children to a park where its free!

Found Nemo in 10 minutesby Yahoo | 2008-02-03 23:13:31 |

3 yr olds cost £11 to get in. They can't read, have the attention span of a gnat. Did the whole place in an hour and a half. If I hadn't a free pass it would have cost us £52 for 2 adults and 2 3 year olds. Still would have been expensive at half the price. If you can get a discount its worth a visit. Full price - forget it. Information is good and plenty of it. What they do is great. Its clean, except the ball play area, full of crisp packets and sweet wrappers. Food overpriced, and not exactly inspiring, eat elsewhere. You can come and go as you please once you've paid. Plenty of good quality food in Brindley Place, Pizza Express is Child-friendly and excellent value for money. If you're really into fish, and I mean really into fish, or have moeny to burn, go. Otherwise, seriously think twice. £50 buys quite a few toys, or books about fish which they can look at time and time again.

won't be going there againby Yahoo | 2007-09-16 11:44:39 |

it was Ok but the entry prices were a total rip off.the displays were alright but again nothing exceptional. But i would go there to see the massive crab again.

THE SEA LIFE CENTRE IS TOATALLY WICKED. I've been going since i was 5 and know i'm 10. The sea life centre is perfect for those horrible rainy days. It has loads of fish there and it's good value for money. When your there you actully feel like your under the water! so if you are wondering what to do when it's rainy, then go to the sea life centre it's !FISHTASTIC!

WOW !!!!!by Yahoo | 2007-04-09 20:13:08 |

this sea life centre is quite awesome. couldn`t believe they had nautilus ! And when you see the size of the octopus the entry fee is well worth it. Go on the train and you get discounted entry price. The otters were qite charming and the green turtles were out of this world. the new hall of mirrors was quite an experience too. its great to see your own back view !

too costlyby Yahoo | 2007-04-07 20:43:04 |

the aquarium is worth visiting. there is a short tunnel where you feel like under water, but 40 pounds for a family entry is bit costly. children will enjoy the visit

its very expensiveby Yahoo | 2007-02-05 12:45:19 |

the only thing i enjoyed when i was there was the starbucks coffee i got when i left.... nah it wasnt that bad but i was just so annoyed that it cost sooo much money. why does it have to be so expensive? the sharks were good and when i went they had a cute little tank filled with fish from finding nemo which i thought was nice. thats about all i can remember.

A well-spent afternoon!by Yahoo | 2007-01-04 14:47:02 |

We three adults wandered round oohing and aahing all afternoon and as well as the Sea Life Centre there is its interesting location within the Canal complex. Plenty to do and see. You can watch the fish/animals being fed. In some places you feel you are underwater. We got a discount for booking online but I think the price of an average
