Great Placeby Yahoo | 2006-09-13 15:57:56 |

I thought this place was great. The only problem I had was with my key working every time. For some reason or another it kept messing up on me and I'd have to get it re-done at the desk. Everyone's English was great - I don't speak Spanish and had no trouble at all at the hotel. The hot water is VERY HOT so be careful. Also - if you ask for a room with 2 beds you won't get one - you'll get a room with one bed and a fold out couch. I stayed in a normal double room so it might be different if you buy a better suite.

Truly a home away from home!by Yahoo | 2006-07-15 05:20:43 |

This was my first trip back to Bogota in 43 years. Unfortunately both Mom and I caught a cold and were very sick the first 4 days (fever and all...). The hotel called a doctor who actually came to our room and took care of us. They also sent one of their staff to a drug store to fill our prescriptions (at no extra charge). The hotel chef fixed us a special home remedy for us to drink before going to bed!. Their restaurant, drivers and all hotel staff were very very nice. They treated us like royalty! Everyone from the hotel manager to the lady who cleaned our room were wonderful, very polite and eager to take care of us. Their service is the best I've experience anywhere. The hotel is very clean and located in a very nice and safe area. It is also attached to a very nice shopping mall which came in handy, since they tell you to take it easy the first two days due to the change in altitudes.

Excellent Choiceby Yahoo | 2005-11-28 18:14:15 |

We just returned from Bogota and stayed at the Hacienda Royal for 5 nights. Extremely service oriented with modern, clean rooms. This hotel is almost new and is connected to a large mall with many shops and banks as well as a large food court. Hacienda Royal is located in the safest part of the city (north zone) and is only 1 block from Avenida Septima, one of the (2) major north-south connectors running through Bogota. Highly recommended with only one drawback- the gym shown on their website is not a greenhouse-style, glassed-in gym- it is in the basement. This is the sister hotel to the Bogota Royal Hotel located at the World Trade Center. We paid about $120./night which we found to be a medium price for Bogota hotels.

Very nicely located, highly recommended!!by Yahoo | 2005-06-24 19:36:25 |

I loved the location, close to shopping, cinemas, restaurants and in a very safe part of Bogota. Service is good, the restaurant was great and I loved the helpfulness of the stuff in finding places and directions. I highly recommend it.

Room 502by Yahoo | 2005-05-06 16:59:51 |

Attachment to the Hacienda mall is a nice convenience, just don't expect to find a lot of bargains there. External security is tight with an armed guard at the main entrance. The breakfast buffet is superb and the people at the front desk, the waiters and the maid are very friendly and helpful. It could have been a highly satisfactory stay except for one thing, which puzzles me to this day: The in-room safe did not lock. Midway through my stay I found the dollar amount in my wallet neatly cut in half. One day before I left another one half disappeared while the pesos were untouched. That was starting to get me into a bind. Who did it? If it happened on the street, nobody would put my wallet back into my pocket. My friends? Unthinkable. Besides they couldn't take the risk and nobody had the chance twice. The maid? I don't think so. That leaves just the times when I slept or took a shower and that's pretty scary. I have to admire, the perpetrator was a professional and executed superbly, but I won't stay in room 502 again.

My favorite place to stay in Bogotaby Yahoo | 2004-03-21 14:14:28 |

A very nice hotel, friendly staff, great location. Rooms are very comfortable, but be aware that they are not air conditioned. (Most hotels in Bogota are not, due to the cool climate). With the windows open, barking dogs in the neighborhood can be a problem. Direct access through the lobby to a very nice little mall, with a fast food section and a small movie theater, is an extra convenience.
