dont waste your time and money; its a terrible place to stay; their service was horrible, speciallly their General manager, their food was horrible;the oerghborhood was crappy, we will never wil stay there again.
the people may not be the friendlyest but they do their job well. so go there it will be worth your while. and dont forget to have fun!
First the positive: The people from the hotel give a very friendly service, and they come quickly when called for. Room service and cleaning are good and discrete. The location is OK, very central but ugly, not dangerous. But the negatives are too many for a Hotel of this price range. We had a standard 1-double-bed room. The room has no air condition – or I would say a heating would be even more apropiate. We were for some days in July and the days were not cold for Bogota standard, we had even some sunny days. Nevertheless it was so cold in the room, the pijama outside the bed was not enough. As mentioned before from others, the carpet is very worn. It is not so unusual, but same as all the other decors, its just from a time of bad taste, looks like from the 60's or 70's. The windows glass is too thinn, it seems you just need to touch it a little bit and it will fall outside – its vibrating and making noises with every breeze. We ordered dinner to the room only one time, because it is too expensive compared to outside Restaurants you pay about the double, and the meat we ordered well cooked was partially raw. The badest of all, the room does not even include Internet connection, we had to pay for it seperately and it was very expensive. Do not go to the Tequendama! We were at much cheaper hotels that had a much better overall look and included Internet connection and better food at better prices, so for anyone I would recommend one of these: Hotel La Feria (my favorit), Andes Plaza or Rosales Plaza (well, the last one is expensive too).
Good location. The restaurant has not good ventilation. One smells after breakfast. It is too busy but rooms are confortable and service is O.K.. Security guards everywhere.
i liked evey thing....Very good sevice , nice restaurants and shopping places. Ilove the great rooms and the hotel's location in the city. I'll recommend this hotel for vacations and bussines.
The service it´s incredible bad. In a dinner they doesn´t have more red wine !! In a restaurant you need to wait hours. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD
The location is a highly polluted area of downtown. During the weekend everything within walking distance is dead. It is located over a huge intersection of busy roads, very noisy. As the rooms donÂ’t have air-conditioning it is impossible to keep the windows closed. I agree with the other reviewer that the staff is unpleasant (even those who speak English). I have stayed there in three rooms all had leaks in the bathrooms. Beware of excessive charges. I was charged twice for the mini bar. At check out I had to waste 25 minutes to convince them to remove excessive charges. The hotel advertises Internet services. They don't have enough modems; I had to wait 3 days until I got one (they cost 8.50 USD per day). The hotel also has a poorly equipped gym; they charge 7.00 USD (daily) for it. Most home gyms are better equipped. Stay away from this place, there are much nicer hotels at this price range in nicer areas.
Bogota is a lively city to the south (Candelaria) of the isolated beachhead where this hotel finds itself shipwrecked, as well as to the north. But here in the so-called "International Center," the streets are nearly abandoned after dark. Add to that a staff that ranges from indifferent to hostile, and most travelers will sail onward. The restaurant, "El Virrey," has some nice dishes, but, again, the service is unfriendly.
