Overview
Floating the serene Boise River is a peaceful, cost-efficient way to spend a summer. From June to September, inner tubes, rafts, canoes and kayaks meander through the city's water artery from Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park, an event passed down to generations of Boiseans. You might find yourself as wet as Gilligan after this three-hour tour, but it's ample retaliation to the desert heat. White water is scarce, but lifejackets are strongly recommended. Boise Parks and Recreation provides transportation from Ann Morrison Park to Barber Park. Otherwise, you'll need two vehicles. This weekend my family floated the Boise River and we couldn't help but go back for more! Twice in one day! The water was cold, but with the hot temps we were cool in the sun the whole day! One thing you will need is some good sun screen! Enjoy one of the best highlights of Boise!
I really injoy taking my raft and enjoying a day on the water with my friend. Ive have a some expience going down the Boise river because Ive done it so many times. I am 13 and usually hve no problems on the river.
This is a great way for the whole family to cool down in the summertime together. The shuttle service will take you from Ann Morrison to Barber Park, so that you can float down 2-3 hours to your vehicle. It is a slow relaxing river with a few rapids here and there to keep it fun!
Peacefully float through nature preserves, past homes, offices, parks and Boise State University. A lovely and refreshing way to see the city. You can rent rafts or tubes at Barber Park in the summer or use your own.
