Overview

In the Middle Ages, Marktplatz was Bonn's trading center. Even today, traders put up stalls and sell fruits and vegetables along with many musical, charitable and multi-cultural events taking place here in summer. Most of these open air events are free. People also go to the Market Square because there are many cafes and restaurants with tables placed outdoors. There are also three cinemas and many shops on the edge of the square.
