Overview
As recent retiree's to Boracay my wife and I joined the golf club. We have been very pleased at the changes that are occurring, especially for the members. The recent 10th Chairmans Cup was a superbly run event for all players and guests. New members lounge and lockers will be much appreciated. The current members have made us feel very welcome indeed. We are happy to be part of this great facility. The Andersons
I liked the accomodation, the atmosphere, the golf course was as good as it gets re. condition, layout ,views etc.the position on the island is excellent,ie quite, relaxed.but close enough to the action if required.I dont agree with the reviewer about investing in property on golf course.Flights are now available on Cebu Pacific direct to Caticlan( very much cheaper) and with the development of quality accomodation on the island property values and rental potential can only increase and possibly dramatically.
The other "reviews" are generally accurate with respect to the quality of the accomodations, the beauty of the course and the delightfully private and clean beaches. We have also found the staff to be as helpful as they can given the limitations of this obviously struggling resort. Fortunately, Friday's and other more reasonably priced dining establishments are accessible from this relatively isolated locale on the small island of Boracay. The master plan was obviously to be all-inclusive, but development has been delayed largely in part due to management's overly optimistic market assessment, and financial difficulties in other portions of their operations. In short, go and enjoy the golf, the beach and even the accomodations, but avoid even discussing any offer to invest in this "slice of paradise". We know several couples from various parts of the world who have done so, to their great sorrow.
Everything is just beautiful. The scene is breathtaking, the waters so inviting, the place so relaxing. The food is great! people are friendly. The place is clean. The beach just lures you to go back over and over again. There is no such thing as, i had too much of this place. But to put simply, each time your vacation ends you will say, I'll be back.
That's what we did. We bought our own condotel unit at Fairways and Bluewater. We were there last February 2007, our first visit to the island. Service was excellent. Staff was very warm and pleasant. They always went out of their way to please us. Our rooms were exceptionally comfortable. Didn't miss anything from home(California). Breathtaking scenery from the fairways especially from the highest point of the course. A private white sand beach, all to ourselves. The west beach (public)area is a short ride. After we were done with dinner and night life on White Beach, it was nice to go home to peace and quiet. WOW..that's vacation. I learned during our stay that condotel units are for sale. Further inquiries, negotiation and paperwork, now we have a place of our own in a private setting with world class amenities. The best part, it is not a time-share. We own the unit and we'll have rental income from it. Fairways and Bluewater, simply amazing!
I would like to preface this by saying we did not stay here but we loved it so much we spent two days golfing at Fairways and Bluewater. We actuallya stayed at Boracay Tropics which was nice but a little too far from the beach for my tastes. But let me get back to the point. The views around the clubhouse and course were absolutely beautiful. The course is challenging but with tips from the very knowledgable caddies, we got by. The only draw back is the price. It was by far the most expensive of the 4 course I played in my two weeks in Philppines by almost double. However, it was most beautiful as well. The service was alittle slow in the restaurant but always very friendly like all of Philippines. The food was very good and reasonable for a resort. We loved it at Fairways and Bluewater so much that next time we will do the 4 night package with unlimited golf for $700.
I LIKE EVERYTHING! EXPERRIENCE VACATIONING, GOLFING & ISLAND RESORT LIFE. YOU'VE GOT TO BE THERE, RATE BY YOURSELF! Am going back this summer 2007. Great place to retire and have play golf all your life. I highly recommend to all of my relative, friends, corporate partners, home owners and enthusiast of island living.
i loved my stay at fairways. i did not want to leave! the view from the swimming pool is simply spectacular. the service was great. also, fairways was the only golf course on the island. though it is separated from the section 2 (where all the action is) they provide free shuttle to anywhere on the island 24hrs/day. fairways itself is only a shot 5 min ride to all the restaurants and bars in boracay. it is truly one of the best places in the entire world. everything was exceptional at fairsways.
I went there in June, 2006 - perfect time for a truly deserved break bereft of the noise of the summer tourists crowd. Indeed! Fairways & Bluewater beach stretch, particularly the East Beach is a perfect place to catch the day's first warm rays of the sun as it rises over the horizon. I enjoyed swimming in this private white sand beach - a relaxing quietude. I literally experienced precious moments of solitude or being with two good friends (Lilee & Isa)and simply wallowed in the sea and basked in the sun for a gorgeous tan and the exciting exuberance of the beach.
i love the view and the coziness and privacy of the place. Boracay can sometimes be crowded but being at fairways is the total opposite. It's calming and relaxing, there's a private beach, a pool, a resto, a bar and you can even play golf!
