Overview

Situated along the island's northern end, this 800-meter beach is made up of puka shells bleached white in the sun. Relatively uncrowded, the location gives you a feeling of remoteness, enhanced by towering craggy cliffs clad in coconut trees. It can be reached in 30 minutes by hired boat from White Beach. Allow at least two hours for the entire outing, and be prepared for some big waves as you approach the shoreline. Hardy adventurers can hike or ride a rented motorbike to the beach. For a leisurely lunch, try Puka Grande Restaurant at the eastern end of the beach.

Pirates in Pukaby Yahoo | 2007-06-24 14:23:56 |

We stopped at beautiful Puka beach while on a round-the-island trip with the Pirates - the Red Pirates that is - Boracay's most well loved paraw sailing crew. It's a lovely quiet beach, not deserted any more, but way more peaceful than White Beach.

Unbelievable!!!by Yahoo | 2007-06-23 02:28:32 |

The beach is just wonderful. The water is so clear and clean. My family and I can't just have enough of the beach. We will surely be back soon!

Makes you feel sooooo good :)by Yahoo | 2007-06-05 14:47:28 |

The cost of the trip to go there with a tricycle is Pesos 150.00 from the center-D'Mall to the beach. It is quite a rough road going into the beach BUT it is worth the effort. It is not crowded and one can have peace and enjoy serenity of the blue still water. There is no doubt that this is a must see when you are in Boracay.do not miss to have something to eat at "Shore Grill", a little nipa hut eatery, serving freshly prepared seafood. Food is excellent and staff are very nice. Some souvenir shops are as well available, I did get some good price from what I bought, yoiu just need to bargain with them.If you take a boat trip which we did too, this is one of there stop. There are no resorts nor hotels around which makes the place more conducive to those who wants to be by themselves and enjoy the peace and serenity. I do highly recommend this place. We have been here last May 23, 2007 and will be back soon.

Best we have seen!!!by Yahoo | 2007-04-27 13:17:39 |

We have been to many of what are classed as the worlds top 10 beaches. Most of which tend to reside in the continental USA and Hawaii. I hate to tell these people that unles they have actually been to Boracay Island they have not seen the best! My wife daughter and myself spent 5 days on the (truly) white sand beach. Native sands that have not be brought in to make a beach like in Waikiki, HI. These are quartz sands with shell fragments. Again different than those found in the Bahamas which are mainly fine shell fragments. There are many things to do and see here. We told friends about it and they also have travelled there this past month and their opinion is the same as ours why has it taken so long for us to discover this place. We are from Canada "the Great White North" and we loved our visit and will be back again, this is for sure. We tend to travel a lot so we are making plans to return.

Hidden Paradiseby Yahoo | 2007-01-24 21:51:31 |

What I like about the place was that it was very private and secluded. It felt like my wife and I found paradise. Best time to visit is anytime as long as it is good weather. When you're there, look up a guide named Marlon. He will be walking up and down the hotel area. Everyone there knows him and he knows all the best places to visit.

Boracay island is lovely, but Puka Beach is heavenly! I loved the remoteness of this beach, it is as if time does not exist if you are there. Definitely for those who crave some peace and quiet and pristine white sand and endless aqua blue waters....ah, my mind still drifts back to puka beach...(loved the spectacular view from the crystal cove too!)

really love this placeby Yahoo | 2006-01-02 13:17:40 |

Puka Beach versus White Beachby Yahoo | 2005-11-17 21:53:49 |

My girl and I were in Boracay in October for 3 days. We stayed at the Regency Hotel which was in front of white beach. We found that allot of debris from neighboring islands would come ashore, we first thought it was only a few pieces of wrappers so we picked up some and threw them away but more and more appeared so we had to stop. We asked some native people about this and they informed us the debris only happens during non peak season times, they suggested Puka beach. We toke a tricycle ride to Puka it was about 15mins. The beach was perfect No candy wrappers nothing to pickup PERFECT. From Puka beach we took a 4 hour boat tour which included snorkeling, stopped at Coral island and Crocodile Island, the boat dropped us off at the hotel this was about $30 US for both of us. We will definitely go back I had a great time.

puka means paradiseby Yahoo | 2005-07-10 02:33:04 |

been to puka beach once by boat from station 2. if you want to experience the remoteness of the place, the tranquility, the clear blue, cool water, and the world famous puka shells which is so white it blinds you, this is the place. my advise to all boracay travelers, rent a boat and sail around the island, stop by for an hour at the snorkeling area and go straight to puka beach and stay there for the remaining of your boat ride. it is so relaxing.

Planning with my family to go thereby Yahoo | 2005-07-05 09:20:44 |

The pedicab is expensive from a destination to central boat terminal was P50 it should be arround the half of the price.
