Bordeaux St-Jean Train Station (Bordeaux-Midi) Attractions & Landmark

The Train Station of Bordeaux

34 Rue de Tauzia
Bordeaux,
Aquitaine, 33800
France

Overview

The current station replaced the old wooden station between the years 1888-1900. An imposing edifice, it houses a vast lobby entirely constructed of metal structures. The façades of the St. Jean and the Terminus pavilions were sculpted by Beylard and Leroux and are particularly remarkable. Today, the station provides transportation for thousands of passengers and between 230 and 260 trans pass through each day. The lobby contains a café-restaurant as well as a newspaper stand.
