Definitely not a three star hotelby Yahoo | 2007-06-22 03:53:41 |

If you compare this hotel to the Marriott which is also three star and at the same location. Then you will know what I mean. This hotel must be over rated and should only deserved 2 or 1.5 star. The clerk at the registration is quite rude and not very friendly. They will ignore you and prefer to chat with each other than serve you.

first time in boston great placeby Yahoo | 2007-05-29 01:39:16 |

we booked room after reading reviews wanted to cancel but when we got there it was an awesome hotel. in the center of everything. if you like high end stores this the place for you its next to a mall.only drawback no on site parking that's across the street 36.00 a day.so its a great hotel big rooms helpful staff. and a great value.

Give it a missby Yahoo | 2006-11-11 23:32:47 |

Hotel is well overdue for a refit rooms way past their best and heating not particularly efficient - not good in late October. Rooms at front of building particularly noisy into early hours at weekend. Reception staff particularly unhelpful and in some cases downright rude - not what you would normally expect in the US. On the plus side housekeeping staff polite and helpful. Only redeeming feature is hotel's location, ideally placed for walking to most of Boston's attractions.

This is the worst hotel I've ever had in my life!!by Yahoo | 2006-10-24 21:42:36 |

I had terriable time for staying the Copley Square Hotel in Boston. I had to switch the room 3times for one night. The reason why I hate this Hotel so much, First they gave me a smoking room, even i don't smoke at all. Second they switched the room which had a bathtub problem. i coudn't take a shower, because water didn't drain through at all. the worst part was some blak dirty thing dained back through the sink. so i had to switched the room again, but still had a problem because the toilet kept flushed by itself. I didn't get any refund at all. I will never ever go there again.

Beware of Bed Bugsby Yahoo | 2005-11-21 22:19:40 |

i was eaten alive by bed bugs at this hotel in november of 2005. i woke up itching and looked at my back in the mirror and saw four huge, red bites. i've seen bed bugs written up in other reviews about this place, which means they've done nothing or little to correct the problem. this is gross and inexcusable.

Avoid like the plague!by Yahoo | 2005-05-29 15:53:18 |

Staff was unhelpful, unresponsive, and even rude at times. Staff not knowledgeable about restaurants or much of anything. Staff appears untrained and lack all customer service skills. Front desk left unattended regularly. Completely overpriced for mediocre, dark rooms. I have never written a review, but feel compelled in this instance to help you avoid my mistake. Do not stay at this hotel. Even if you have to pay more, stay elsewhere - amenities were unimpressive and service was that bad!

Perfectly Convenientby Yahoo | 2005-05-16 23:55:22 |

The employees were wonderful. Our first impression of the room was terrible - the hall and the room reaked of cigarettes, but when we called to be moved to non-smoking, it turned out to be a good experience in a perfect location - very close to the subway, great shopping area, and super easy to get to Fenway. Has a bit of a haunted feel to it, but we would stay again.

Traditional and well placedby Yahoo | 2005-05-12 17:35:00 |

I'm surprised that the other reviews are so indifferent or bad. My wife and i stayed there for a week and found that it was very well placed for the city's main attractions and was an easy walking distance to the majority of the city's main historic buildings. The staff were helpful and did know where to advise us to go for reataurants and shopping. It is close to Boston Common and subway stops and is well furnished in an old world sort of way which is quaint. Our room was not huge like in Florida but you expect that of a city hotel.

Cheap, Cheerful and basicby Yahoo | 2005-04-29 21:08:01 |

We stayed in this hotel in December 04. It was ideally located for everything and was really close to two shopping malls for those of you who like to shop. It is a small hotel but had a warm atmosphere. The front desk staff could have been more helpful but the concierge could not have they were great always with a little hint or idea of what to do. The first room we were given was small and dark but clean. When we asked to see another room we were instantly moved to a wonderful light and spacious room. Be warned if you are not small and you have luggage the lift/elevator has to be one of the smallest I have ever seen. There were three of us with a suitcase each and it took two trips. With this being the only lift It is definitely quicker to use the stairs. Overall it was cheap and cheerful. If you pay 3* price what else would you expect.

should go out of business soonby Yahoo | 2005-02-19 09:45:04 |

Do not stay here. The employees are incompetent and deceptive. example: We had never been in Boston and requested directions to a restaurant. They pointed at a wall and said, "oooh yah it's just down that way - just go past the prudential building a ways and make a right." They were unable to provide more explicit directions when I proceeded to request them. example: I had tried booking the hotel through a site different from the hotel's, and my computer froze in the process. I proceeded to book it through the hotel's main website. I arrived and everything seemed to transpire normally. When I returned home I received my credit card bill, which included the bill i signed and an additional charge for a separate night. The night for which I received this extra charge corresponded with one of the nights I had actually stayed in the hotel. Apparently the first website did reserve my room even though it froze. The hotel did NOT notify my of my extra room when i arrived, nor did they feel they had wronged me by charging me for the extra night (which is their late-cancellation policy). example: The bellman and the service desk, which are literally right next to each other, would "refer" me to the other for whatever question or demand I might have. In requesting taxis, luggage storage, or directions, I would often be bounced between the two desks multiple times (per request). example: The bellmen are aweful. They don't know the city and feel that everyone should already have a full comprehension for the inner workings of their ridiculous establishment. For example, I wanted to make sure a taxi would arrive when I finished breakfast, so I asked the bellman if he could get a taxi for about half an hour later. He replied, "You can't order taxi's in advance like that! Just tell me right before you want to go!" Of course, the taxi didn't show up for 20 minutes after I had asked for it. There were several other incidents involving taxi services as well. Do not stay here. I encourage everyone to take whatever steps may be necessary to see to this hotel's ruin.
