Overview

This tour is a great way for Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Japanese speakers to learn about Boston. Using a personal listening device, passengers can hear a prerecorded narration in the language of their choice. Trolleys depart from Long Wharf and also pick up from several area hotels. An uninterrupted tour takes 110 minutes, but you may get on and off as much as you like. Stops include Newbury Street, Chinatown, Beacon Hill and the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Chartering for private events is available.

Stay Away from Beantown Trolley!!!by Yahoo | 2009-08-18 23:53:01 |

This trolley company was a total disappointment! We waited over 35 minutes for the first trolley...other trolley lines had 2-3 trolleys arrive while we were waiting. The stops were difficult to find with very little signage that you are at the correct place. We had one driver that waved us down the street...driving along slowly, but never stopping to pick us up! After buying the tickets, we were told...Oh, BTW, the last trolley pick up is at 4:30pm! (on a weekend in the middle of summer!!) We were left at two stops because the trolley was full with the reason given...we can't let anyone stand. Then the last trolley we rode allowed several people to stand in the aisle. I don't think this company should be allowed to "fleece" the people visiting the great city of Boston. Spend your money on one of the several other trolleys serving the Boston area!!

Watch out for CityView Trolley tours!by Yahoo | 2008-07-10 21:06:47 |

We bought two-day weekend tickets for the Boston Loop and the Cambridge Tour. Saturday was okay on the Boston Loop, but when we came back into the city on Sunday, the driver told us that the Cambridge Tour had been cancelled due to low numbers the day before. They offered no refund and no remedy other than the subway. A phone call and e-mail have yet to be responded to. Whatever you do, use a credit card. DO NOT PAY CASH. Or better yet, walk the Freedon Trail and buy an all-day subway ticket to get all over the city for much less.

WORSE EXPERIENCE EVERby Yahoo | 2007-10-09 21:48:19 |

THE BOSTON TROLLEY TOURS SAID THEY RAN EVERY 30 MINUTES. WE WAITED 1 1/2 HRS FOR THE FIRST ONE AND 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES FOR THE SECOND ONE. BY THIS TIME, WE HAD TO MISS SITE SEEING ON TWO THINGS WE PLANNED TO SEE. WE ONLY HAD 1 DAY TO VISIT BOSTON AND THIS TOLLEY CO RUINED IT!!!!! WE SAW THE OTHER TROLLEY COMPANIES RUNNING CONSTANTLY. WE ASKED FOR OUR MONEY BACK AND THEY WERE VERY RUDE AND WOULD NOT RETURN IT. OTHER PEOPLE WERE ALSO ASKING FOR THEIR MONEY BACK AT THE SAME. TIME. JACKIE

Excellent Tourby Yahoo | 2007-06-14 02:54:02 |

My wife and I visted Boston over this past weekend. On Sunday we got on board the Discover Boston Trolley Tour. Our driver Dennis was very without question the best guide. His knowledge of the city, the manner in which he presented the tour, and his polite manner was a very pleasant experience. We had a wonderfull tour and will recommend your company and Dennis to all of our friends when they come to visit your city. Keep up the good work. Al and Susan Houston Texas

Worst of the Worst !!!!!!!!!!!!!by Yahoo | 2006-11-13 16:47:55 |

This is the worst tour company I have ever dealt with. My wife and I scheduled a pick up with this company to pick us up at a hotel in cambrige. Half hour after the pick up time they hadn't arrived. I had someone from the hotel call to see what the problem was and why they hadn't arrived yet, well it seemed that they went to the wrong hotel but never called to let us know what was going on. So then they told the girl at the hotel that the tour company would no longer be able to pick us up and that we had to take the train, now being that my wife and I are elderly and it was raining i wasn't going to take the train there. Had I not told the girl at the hotel to call i was have still been sitting there not knowing they were no longer coming to pick us up thank goodness i didn't hold my breath. I then wanted a refund on my tickets and they told me to go back online and get a credit that there was no way they could do it even though i booked it off there website funny huh.NEVER AGAIN

Avoid the white trolley bus!!!by Yahoo | 2006-10-12 18:28:48 |

I had a terrible experience with Discover Boston. I got off at one stop and waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for the next bus to come along. In the meantime, I saw 16 of the Old Town Trolley buses while I waited. When the bus finally came, all the passengers were irate. One couple waited 1 hour and 45 minutes at another stop. I heard later that a fist fight broke out on another bus between a customer and the driver. I bought a 2-day pass from Discover Boston but decided to cut my losses the second day by buying a ticket on Old Town Trolley. Also, you can't see as well out of the windows on the Discover Boston buses. Old Town Trolley is a much better deal!
