Cuddle a Koala, feed the roos, get close to the beautiful colored birds. This gem of a park is hidden on the edge of Brisbane near Toowong and it was like finding a little Eden in the big city. Loved it and I plan to go back whatever it takes.
This place is awesome for anybody who has a special place in their heart for koalas. The best way to get there is to take a boat ride down the Brisbane river. The boat only make one trip a day and only stays banked at Lone Pine for about 2.5 hours, but that's all you need. Lowlight- You get done with the place in a matter of an hour. 80% of the zoo is koalas and it is rather small. Highlight- You can hold a koala and have your picture taken with it which is a memory you're sure to cherich forever
Lone PIne was amazinggggggggg! i loved it and they were great with the animals. They allow you to get upclose and personal with animals of australia. Lone pine 100% awesome
Imagine to walk into a park, where Koalas are not held in cages. You can cuddle Koalas and hold a snake or kroc for a littel surcharge. Nice place indeed, especially because you get to see lots of native animals like kangoos, cassawary, emus and beautiful birds! Unfortunately the last category, the birds, look quiet unhappy in their little cages. Sure the entry fee isn't too bad but I would pay more if the birds and especially the cassawary and emus would get the space they definitely would need to not just stand in one corner and stare at the wall or fly hysterically from left to right. However, if you love Koalas (I definitely do) this is the place to visit!
Seeing fluffy koalas almost in their natural habitat, the chance to wander around in the bush. Places to have the 'barbie and completely free. I'd go again if I get the chance when I go back to Brisbane in March '07
It was very good and the koalas were cute. All the people were really nice and I especially liked holding the koala for a bargain price!
Liked the trip down river out of Brisbane. Could have taken a bus, but then we would have had to ride a bus. Lessee... boat - bus - boat - bus -- BOAT! Good intro to life and times of a koala. It was our first animal tour Down Under. It was cool enough. But... WARNING! DANGER WILL ROBINSON! Don't ask them "What do they taste like?" The eurocentric teenaged tree huggers go all agast. (These are obviously people who have never been really hungry.) They will politely inform you that koalas are endangered and are a protected species. And they are. Except on Kangaroo Island, where they are destroying the forest. Now, once again, "What do they taste like"?
We really enjoyed our visit to the Koala sanctuary it made our holiday from the UK a totally magic experiance. Since a small child I had always wanted to hold a koala and now i can say i have done it. I will always remember my visit, and will never forget the look on my 3 childrens faces when they to held a koala and saw and fed the Lorrakeets. Your park is truely awsom. I have told all my friends of our visit and they all want to come to see everything that we have seen. Mitchell Family.
