Overview
This spectacular and renovated building houses a museum that's massive in scale (slightly intimidating in fact), with a wide range of exhibits. It's noted for its Spanish collection, most of which comes from the famous Count Esterhazy who picked up the pieces at bargain prices. Everything from El Greco to Goya is here. There is also an interesting display of Roman vases and artifacts (lots of huge toga-holding safety pins) as well as many other works. The visiting hours for permanent and temporary exhibitions vary, so for exact timings, call ahead or check the website.Open Hours
Tu to Su from 10:00 AM to 06:00 PMI'd like to go back very soon.Great Museumawesome
The Museum of Fine Arts was wonderful, and to our great surprise, the Slendor of the Medici exhibit was there. If this comes to a city near you, take time to see it. It was great. And Budapest, we fell in love and will go back. Ann
The museum is free so that is a plus right off the bat. And if you want to take pictures it is only 300 HUF which is really cheap, like $1.25. The Egyptian exhibit was cool, and the architecture inside the museum is grand. Overall great.
Hungary is a perfect target for every american, or eastern people.Go and see it!!!Unforgetable
