Items taken from our hotel roomby Yahoo | 2008-10-27 04:05:00 |

A cautionary tale - I recently stayed at the Marriott in BA. I must say it is a lovely hotel in a great location. However, please note that my shopping parcels were taken from our room. If you do any shopping in BA, PLEASE take the time to hide your purchases in your suitcase or if possible, secure your items in the in-room safe. The Marriott was not able to help me at all, which was very disappointing for us.

VERY INTERNATIONAL AND SOPHSITICATED OLD ELEGANCEby Yahoo | 2008-01-25 05:17:20 |

THE AMBIANCE IS VERY DESIREABLE. YOU FEEL AT HOME NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE FROM. IT HAS OLD WORLD ELEGANCE WITHOUT BEING OVERWHELMING. THE STAFF IS WELL INFORMED FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE HOTEL WELL REPRESENTS THE ARGENTINES. STUCK IN A TIME ZONE WHERE ELEGANCE AND FUNCTION MEET. I HIGHLY RECOMENDED IT. I LIVE IN PASADENA, CALIFORNIA AND HAVE TRAVELED EXTENSIVELY. MY HUSBAND IS HUNGARIAN AND HE LOVED IT. IT HAS A FANTASTIC LOCATION. CLOSE TO EVERYTHING IN BUENOS AIRES. THE TAXIS ARE VERY INEXPENSIVE ANYWAY. STELLA

Great Locationby Yahoo | 2006-12-22 21:37:58 |

This hotel has a great history, and wonderful location. Although I felt it should be renovated as the furniture and rooms were a little dated; it was a wonderful hotel and I would definitely go back. The staff were very friendly and accomodated us with entry into the lounge when our room was not ready. The location was prime! You literally can walk out and catch the subway, stroll through the park, or go shopping to your heart's content. If possible ask for a park view room.

This is a GREAT Hotel!by Yahoo | 2006-09-25 14:14:11 |

This hotel is a real classic...the oldest in Buenos Aires. The Plaza Grill and The Plaza Bar are outstanding. If you're like us and enjoy a good martini, the Plaza Bar is a must. Gabriel, the bartender, and all the staff here, are terrific. Some of the best concierge staff we've ever seen. Everyone at this property is helpful and pleasant. Kudos to Marriott.

Location is great!by Yahoo | 2006-01-30 03:44:44 |

Booked with expedia.com, expensive but good rate including breafast. If your room rate does not include breakfast, I don't recommend eating breakfast at the hotel (VERY expensive for what you get). I reported a few items that needed repair in my room. Whithin 30 min. the items were fixed or replaced. Staff was VERY helpful.

EXCELLENT value for the money! I always stay at this hotel while in Buenos Aires, whether it be business or pleasure. Fantastic location to all major tourist sites and business centers. This old world hotel has a great breakfast buffet and ample sized rooms. The only drawback is the small pool though that does not prevent it from being a very fun place to hang out.

The historic Plaza Hotel is centrally located, downtown, near major government buildings and Florida Avenue, and within walking distance of Casa Rosada, Puerto Madera and Recoletta. With St. Martin's square just across the street, the hotel has lots of charm. The rooms are large and well furnished and I wanted to bring home the water pressure in the shower. However, there were long lines waiting to check in and out, and for foreign travelers arriving in the morning following overnight flights, this wait can be especially tedious. Without a lobby level entrance to the elevator, baggage handling is another weak point, but the helpful porters more than made up for this deficiency.

This is a beautiful hotel located on a scenic plaza in Buenos Aires. The rooms are good sized, and the bathrooms are updated. Beds are very comfortable, and the spa is amazing. Few of the service personnel knew english, so brush up on your spanish if possible. Catch a bite to eat poolside when the weather cooperates. If your muscles are sore from the long flight from the US, the massage staff can work wonders. It's a great hotel for the business and leisure traveler alike.
