Overview

You've likely heard of Buffalo wings, but few outside the city know that Frank and Teressa's Anchor Bar is where they originated in 1964 and where they still make some of the best. If wings aren't your thing, you can choose from made-to-order pub food. Minutes from the Buffalo Theater District, this casual, unpretentious bar features live jazz Friday and Saturday evenings. The walls are covered with awards and articles extolling the famous wings. See website for online sauce and souvenir shopping and more.

          A Must Do In Buffalo!by Yahoo | 2006-09-07 22:45:36 |

I am a Chef By Trade and was taken to the Anchor Bar by friends in the early 1980's. This is the holy grail for wing lovers, the place where it all started in 1964. It would be a sin not to visit if you are in Western New York State. I travel in from Canada at least anually to have a feast. May it alway's continue!

          Awesome!by Yahoo | 2005-08-31 21:46:22 |

Absolutely the best wings I've ever had! Definitely worth visiting. Great wings, great sauce and good cold beer. Nothing better! Worth another trip to Buffalo!

          Wings, wings, wings...by Yahoo | 2005-03-05 17:37:45 |

I had wings about 4 times on my week long trip to Buffalo and they were great every place I went to. But the Anchor Bar is where it all started. If you can handle it, try the suicidle wings.

          Nothing beats the Originalby Yahoo | 2005-02-05 18:32:29 |

The Anchor Bar is a must stop on your trip to Buffalo. It is the birthplace of chicken wings and nothing beats the original. I stopped in there for happy hour to have a couple drinks and to try their world famous wings and trust me, it is worth it. If your not a big chicken wing fan, don't worry, they had a lot of other options on the menu, like another Buffalo creation, Beef on Weck.
