Overview
The oldest still-operating tavern in Buffalo, this downtown drinking establishment located outside Allentown got its start in 1868. Offering traditional German good cheer, food, service and beer, the tavern is popular with regulars and out-of-towners. The menu includes many German-American favorites such as potato pancakes, wiener schnitzel, and German sausage platters. The tavern operates a restaurant and a bar, with separate hours for each.

Good Beer & Food
I had an early lunch here. Probably the highlight was the Flying Bison Dunkel that is made special for the tavern. We had a tasty sausage platter which included a weiss and brat, german potato salad, and sauerkraut. I'd definitely go back if I was in town.
