Overview

Home to the Allentown Art Festival and listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, this vibrant, ethnically and lifestyle-diverse area has become a magnet in recent years for art galleries and restaurants. The area centers on Allen Street from Main to the east and Symphony Circle to the west, North Street to the north and the Theater District to the south.Attractions in the area include the Wilcox Mansion, and the Towne Restaurant. As well, the Allentown Art festival draws more than 500,000 visitors each June.

allentown along with the elmwood strip are really the only areas of buffalo worth spending alot of time in,(aside from the parks) great dining, galleries, street life, and festivals. The area also has a great hip underground culture and art scene.(the street signs all have anarchy symbols on them), and is really the bohemian heart of buffalo. Be sure to walk around and check the great early 19th century houses and architecture, and catch a film screening at the squeeky wheel art center.

Allentown is a very hip and trendy area in Buffalo. It has good restaurants, fun shopping, amazing galleries, and a cool atmosphere.
