Overview
You would expect a lake city to offer great cruises, and Miss Buffalo does just that, offering afternoon, evening and weekend excursions. The sightseeing cruises sail through three distinct bodies of water, accompanied by narration. The afternoons are the most sedate, while the weekends host party cruises with live bands, dancing and a bar. The cruise takes you under the Peace Bridge and through the historic Black Rock Lock and Canal, with great panoramas of Buffalo. There are brunch, lunch and dinner cruises, and there's even a Murder Mystery Dinner. Public cruises may be reserved July through Labor Day, and private charters are available May through September.Went on for Rock-n-DJ 7/14 8:30-11. Don't know how you choose DJ's, but music started with few oldies, to disco, then basically to rap for the entire night. Dancing songs stunk. We do not want to listen to rap! Floor was packed only for "Electric Slide". DJ needs to accommodate all age groups, not just age group 20's. We have been on the Miss Buffalo every year, but this past weekend was by far, the worse experience we've had as far as the choice of music selection went. A fight started to take place in the middle of the dance floor which had to be taken outside. There were 4 of us as a group. Evening was not what we had hoped for. Will think before booking again.
A great ride, well worth the price. I believe it cost only around $5.00 to get a ticket! This two hour ride starts along the Erie Basin marina. You then exit the harbor and travel down the Niagara river, experiencing great views of the Buffalo skyline. You travel farther down the river, the tour guide pointing out landmarks on the way, until you reach the Black rock harbor. You go through a lock, and then travel down the Black Rock Canal and head back to the Erie Basin marina where your ride ends. This is a great hidden treasure WNY has to offer, and if you are ever in the Buffalo area I highly recommend it.
