My husband and I just happen to be passsing through Buffalo and came acrosse this. It is a must see when your Downtown. So if your in the area be sure to check it out. You will not be dissappointed

Oh, this plaza is the best plaza I have ever been to. Let me tell you, all year round this plaza is full of activity, beautiful surroundings, great atmosphere, and spectacular views. Being located in the heart of downtown Buffalo near Shea's Performing arts center and next to the metro rail that runs right near it, as well as beautiful light buildings such as the Electric Tower which is seen in the distance, and beautiful, modern glass buildings that surround it, as well as resturants right near it and water falls and a wating pool in the summer with the wonderful outdoor skating rink in the winter. Near Christmas time, They put up a large tree fully lit with many decorations, and they have christmas music in the backround and the ice rink, and sooo much more. This is the closest thing to Rockefeller Center in NYC. Now, in the summer, this place is wonderful for eating your lunch outside, or just sitting there and looking at everything you see around you. Fountain Plaza with its trees, flags, pool, rink, fountain, buildings, surroundings, and location as a great place to have a gathering, party, or fun time as a hang out place, is truly the best plaza I have ever been to. You should go to!

The skating aspect is my favorite reason to go there, especially for holidays like New Years Eve when they extend their operations and have their Christmas effects (decorated tree, etc). Most of the time music is piped outside while you skate (the rink is free and skate rental is available). Otherwise in summer it's equally a pleasant place to rest for lunch or just take a load of your feet while the rest of Main street passes by (pedestrians and the rail). Near the core downtown, right around Buffalo's prime nightlife strip, theater district and several restaurants.

love the plaza on warm days..the reflecting pool is beautiful and the location is right in the center of the ever-changing downtown scene. You will enjoy it.

What a beautiful area. My fiance and I while walking down Main St. enjoying the architecture stopped to watch the people ice skating outside in fountain plaza on a nice winter afternoon. Maybe on our next visit we will join them, but having been our first time in Buffalo, we had too many things to see and do.
