Overview
Set in the heart of Cairo's most famous bazaar, this venerable tea house has been managed by the same family and has remained open 24 hours a day since 1773. It occupies a narrow alley off El-Hussein Square. Cracked mirrors, smoky ceilings, old wooden furniture and a stuffed crocodile lend charm. But the real draw is the crowd—a diverse mix of package tourists, chic sheikhs, inland sheesha chain-smokers and snooty waiters. Tea, Turkish coffee and a variety of hot and cold drinks are available for the asking. Food is not available, but can be brought in from local stands.
Open Hours
- Monday to Sunday from 12:00 AM to 12:00 AM
