Overview

St Botolph's Church was the patron saint of travelers in medieval times and, as such, churches dedicated to him were often sited at the entrance to a town. This church was built around 1320. Its 15th-century tower is topped with symbols of the four Evangelists: the man, the eagle, the ox and the lion. On its walls are two sundials and a clock. Be sure to check out the painted roof and 17th-century font inside.
