Overview

Tak Kee Roast Inn was the first Chinese barbecue restaurant to open in Canberra and remains a popular spot for the local community. Simple decor with no fancy trimmings creates a very pleasant, casual dining experience. Barbecue dishes, noodles in soup, rice, congee and dry noodles feature on the menu. Fresh, exotic meals include jellyfish on toast trotter, lettuce and sliced fish, and roast duck and rice.

This is a small, simple, cheap cafe featuring some of the best barbecue pork and duck you will find in Canberra. Crowded and with almost no decor to speak of, diners could briefly think they were in one of the less expensive cafes of Singapore. Don't go there looking for a classy meal to impress your future wife. Do go there with a bunch of friends looking to stuff down alot of food very quickly, with plenty of cash left over for partying afterwards.
