Wherever you go in Canberra, you will see these distinctive red, open top buses known as the Canberra Tour Buses. This official city sightseeing tour is a great introduction to Canberra as the bus has regular stops at all the city sights. You can hop off at any stop and board another bus later and tickets are valid 24 hours. The tour is accompanied by a professional commentary in a range of Asian and European languages. Tickets can be bought either on the bus, from some hotels or from the Canberra Visitor Centre. Board the bus at Melbourne Building, Northbourne Avenue.
What a great place to visit! We heard so many negative rumours about Canberra we almost didn't go - thankfully we decided to see for ourselves... The city hosts all of Australia's major tourist attractions, most of which are free. Canberra is spread-out and can be a pain to navigate. We opted to catch the double-decker sightseeing bus, (and feel the wind in our hair) - it is without doubt the most logical way to get to all of the sights and places of interest. Even if you're only in town for the day, then this tour should be the one thing that you do - it's excellent value for money and will give you a great introduction to Canberra. Brilliant time!
Best way to get around such a spread out place! Friendly staff, excellent service - can't fault it at all. Beats the pathetic little bus that claims to be sightseeing - don't waste your manoey, we did!!
Regular tour at a realistic price. Loved the ability to jump on and off - there's so much to see in Canberra, and it is so spread out that this is the easiest way to get around. Highly Recommended!
