Overview

Opened in 1979, Cockington Green will delight everyone with its miniature approach to, "ye olden days." This tiny village is built at one twelfth of the original size and you stand over the buildings like a giant. An old English village, built entirely to scale, with each structure built out of tiny bricks. The trees and gardens are all real but trimmed to size. There is a soccer and cricket field where you can see a game in action and the turf maze is the only one of its kind in Australia.

Open Hours

My mother and I had a wonderful time at Cockington Green and I thought it was better than I had expected. The gardens were just amazing and every thing was so clean and tidy. It was quite suitable for children and the children around us seemed to really enjoy it also, with lots of little people and a mini train to have a ride on at a reasonable price. Our only disappointment would have been the gift shop as my mother is a collector of minitures and she was looking forward to buying some things and it was a bit ordinary. The new section of oversease places was extreamly good too, but we did find the Australian site embarrassing. Over all in good weather it was a wonderful place to visit. Cheers.

I've been there for several times during my stayed in canberra..It is a restfull place...a perfect place to get away from stress... I could find relax atsmosphere, calm... One think as sugestion the tickect fare should be give any discount to visitor students.

Fantastic for Kids 1-6by Yahoo | 2007-01-17 05:17:44 |

The highlights for our family are the train ride, the miniature trains that can be operated by pushing buttons and the dollhouses. We live in the area so have an annual pass. The annual pass is a great value. You get a train ride each visit and can bring a picnic. I can actually sit in the dollhouse area and read a book while my little one plays. We had her birthday here with 2 friends which worked out great. My mother 65+ enjoyed her visit. This is probably not a great value for kids over about 7 or 8 or adults without kids. A quick look and you would be done. My daughter just turned 2 and absolutely loves this place. It is a fantastic place to take her for a few hours to use up some energy. The miniatures are fascinating to her. There is alot of detail so she notices something new each time we go. There are 4 or 5 miniature trains that she loves to watch. She is just starting to be able to push the buttons to operate them herself. I usually have to drag her kicking and screaming from the toy dollhouses in the playground area.

Good- But not that goodby Yahoo | 2006-10-05 06:05:17 |

Its a nice place, where they have brought in lots of miniatures..however, its not really worth 15$ and you go there only if you have enough time on your hand and only after u have visited other places. Its cute...but its missable..heard the War Memorial and other places are better.
