HOLY COW! You get what you pay for.by Yahoo | 2008-07-22 16:05:02 |

I just came back from cancun trip of 4 days. I first stayed in a 5 star hotel called Moon PALACE which was absolutely the best high standard hotel Ive ever been in!! But my fiances company only paid for 3 days so we decided to spend the last day going to chichen itza and staying at The Imperial Laguna. Oh my!!! This hotel was foul!!! It was hard to find because the hertz place told us it was on pok to pok but it wasn't it was on quixtal. So after driving in heavy rain for about 35 min we found the place. The outside looked great but as soon as we got into the hotel room it looked sooo old and dirty with a musky, cheap fabric softener/mexican food smell in it too. The beds were too firm and the shower looked scary as well as the sink! Never again if you have high standards and want to enjoy your vacation.

This was a very well located little place right by the lagoon side - even seen a croc one day which was nice - the maids, handy/garden men and reception staff were very cheery helpful people but the rep was rubbish and the bar/restaurant staff in daytime lacked smiling skills (faces like thunder!) - overall basic, clean enough & good breakfast - also cheap enough - would recommend for cheap cheerful getaway
