It was fun for the kids (younger, mine are 3 & 4.) They enjoyed themselves on a rainy day, however the amount of bigger kids that were running around and not being supervised by their parents was a little daunting. The "exhibits" were cool for the kids to play on, but it was very small and not at all what I imagined (perhaps that's why there are no real pictures on the website.) I'd go on a rainy day, but that would be about it.

My family consisting, of my 18 month old, my 4 year old, and my 65 year old mother, visited the Museum on Thursday 2/1/07. I was a little hesitant because of the previous review. I called a head and was recieved very warmly on the phone. The woman assured me that it was a great day to come and everyone in my family would benifit by the experience. When we were greated by a very sweet elderly volunteer. She explained what was happening for the day. We had a choice of listening to a story being read or enjoying a wonderful messy art program being offered. My mother took my youngest to the storytime and my 4 year old and I went to the art workshop. When the story was over my mother loved being able to follow my young toddler throughout the museum and explore the many hands on exhibits that encourage imaginary play. As for my 4 year old she made project after project until she was ready to leave the room. The instructor was especially nice and informed us of the different exhibits that might interest us when went out. Yes, the building was old and had a warehouse feel to it but, it was well furnished with fun for the whole family. I also felt very relaxed because it was so wide open, I could keep an I on my children when they wonder off without me. There was no eatting or drinking allowed in the museum but that was explained to us in a very professional way. We were also informed we go out and get a Bite to eat and come back. If adults did come in with coffee they were asked to leave it at the front desk where the staff person could keep a watchful I on it. Because they did not allow food in the museum my mother and I thought it was a very clean facility. My advice is take look! The staff did say that days with inclement weather that is a very hectic place. Try calling ahead.

We actually overheard the staff talking rude about our kids....The place was set up with cool things to do however the staff made you feel like your an intruder. They wouldn't even let you take a beverage in when they all had theirs in hand.
