Overview

This enclosure is the resting place of illustrious Venezuelans and an homage to their memory, beginning with Simon Bolivar, whose tomb has a permanent guard. It was decreed the National Pantheon in 1875, after having been the Church of the Holy Trinity. Within this rather moving atmosphere, the visitor cannot help but observe and appreciate the epic paintings of Tito Salas on the ceiling, and the magnificent chandelier made of more than 4,000 pieces. The changing of the guards is also worth seeing.

When my family and I visited Panteon Nacional in Caracas, we were in awe (even our kids!) This is a must see when traveling to Venezuela. From, Betty Juerbrake, NY

its old. I found nothing fun about this place and was completely bored. My lunch at Mr. Ribbs was better than this. and it had a 4.5 rating.

The place is very easy to find and there are a lot of guides around to help you understand the different displays and galeries. They will translate to English the info. Very spacious so no rush even if there is a crowd. Helps you understand the history of the country and the background of its people.
