Overview

Although the Tour César (César's Tower) dates back to the 12th century, historians are sure a tower has existed on this spot for much longer, possibly since the days of Roman rule. During medieval times the fortification served as a watchtower, prison, and refuge should the city be attacked. Take a tour of the guardroom, the governor's room, then wind your way to the top of the tower for fantastic views of the town and surrounding countryside. Opening hours vary seasonally, check website for details.
