We went there for lunch on a Wednesday. We waited over 30 minutes for very mediocre food. When we asked to talk to a manager, he offered no apology, and told us they had too many orders come in at the same time. There were very few full tables in the dining room, and the excuse was definitely insincere. Too much money for too much time spent wasting for not so great food.
The lobby was very nice but nothing else was. It was very dirty, wallpaper coming off the walls, ants in the bathroom, stains on the carpets, furniture didn't all match, trash in the halls and the elevator, elevator hasn't been vaccuumed in a long time, the walls in the halls looked beat up. It was old and run down . It was in a bad area of town and the security at the hotel was a joke. We left and found hotels near the river which were cheaper and muuuuch nicer.
It was very close to all attractions. Travel via the shuttle it's a great experience if you meet local as we did. The rooms as well as the other area's are in need of renovations. Otherwise we were pleased with our stay. We had a Hotwire rate and that rate was worth it. We would not have been happy at the standard rate. Do plan a visit.
We Love the Whole Theme! The Food Was delicious. The Heated Pool was so warm that you could see the steam rising from the pool. The rooms were clean. It was just WONDERFUL!
I have stayed at the choo choo several times and will be returning several more all the staff is very nice and helpful. Leigh is an angel and has helped me set up a corprate account there. The choo choo is a quaint and romantic place with tons of history surrounding it. I recommended it to several people inclunding my daughter for a romantic get a way.
I went to the Holiday Inn on a AAA trip. We had a delightful room which included plenty of exercise walking to and from the main lobby.I loved seeing the garden & old trains. The lobby is gorgeously renovated. My only suggestion would be to serve less food! Most of us could not eat three huge pieces of chicken. After eating salad, warm rolls and dessert, I was stuffed. Therefore, it was too much of a good thing!
We arrived @2am and was very happy to be greeted w/a smile. Stayed in Hotel 3 0n 5th floor with our 3 year old granson. We all loved every min of it. Clean/fresh/very decor and great service. The breakfast buffet is great. What more could you ask for. We have stayed also before on the train and that is nice for once. There is so much to do on the grounds. And don't miss the new Choo Choo Shows it was wonderful. And if you have children you must catch A Day Out With Thomas (the train). It is a memory you will treasure for ever. And the hotel is so well located to everything. Just can't say enough good things about it.
Motel is very old and it shows. Stayed in building 1 and the room was not good. The shower was not very clean and the ceiling had patches all over it. We booked with a package for the incline, ruby falls and rock city for 239.00... when my wife checked in the price was 20.00 higher do to so called ticket price increase!!! not a good way to do business if you ask me!!!!!! would not stay in again, to many other nice places around!!!!
The first I went on it I was only 5 but I loved it ever since. Between the fun and great time I just can't get enough.
The Choo-Choo has so much to do right there on the property. There are nice shops, restaurants, gardens and the rooms are very nice. We love going there and are going for the 2nd time this weekend. The people are very friendly also.
