This is one of the largest markets in Chiang Mai, centrally located and lying close to the Ping River. You can buy almost anything here, from fresh fruits, vegetables and spices to jewelry, clothes and, of course, hill-tribe products. Unlike the nearby touristy Night Bazaar, where most stalls are only open at night, Warowot Market is open during the day and evening, frequented more by local Thais than by tourists. Explore the maze of indoor and outdoor stalls, enjoy the chaos and color, and be ready to bargain. It is, after all, part of the fun.

wonderful place to wonder around....great bargains and superb local atmosphere...quite different to night market. helpful, friendly people.one gets kind of lost in the many alleys within the market but you eventually surface 'somewhere'....never where you started ofcourse! but nothing to fear....just stop a red bus and tell the driver where you want to go...its cheap and its FUN! highly recommended!

Nice smiles!!! Good food!!! Strong smells (durian, Kapi, and many other fermentations)!! Cheap clothing + Tribal embroideries, cloth by the yard, Red Chinese gold and herbal shops. But they need to put explanations in Wolof on all packagings.
