Overview

With its original incarnation as a vaudeville house in 1926, this 2,300-seater dates back to an era when no expense was spared to create glitzy, glamorous theaters. But, like many other grand theater and movie houses of the time (and for that matter, the inner-city as a whole), the Palace fell into disrepair and was vacated a shell of its former glory. Unlike many of its now-razed counterparts, this theater was saved from the wrecking ball and in fact underwent a $20 million renovation. Now the Palace truly befits its name again, with its chandeliers and rose-colored walls and mirrors.

I have seen 8 different touring productions at this theatre in the last 2 years and it is a wonderful place to see quality entertainment. The intricate and sumptuous designs of the theatre are breath taking and worthmany visits to see Broadway's best.

The theatre is in a good location--just west of the Loop. It's a beautiful theatre; well done on the renovation, and we saw an awesome performance of Les Mis!

The Cadallac Palace is a great theatre in Chicago to visit. The decor is just beautiful. The location is public transportation accessible. The staff is very friendly and caring. I went to see the Lion King Broadway Musical and it was phenomenal.
