JOI operates a paper restoration service in addition to the gallery. I've had a bad experience in sending in works on paper for their evaluation for repair of losses and tears. When I decided not to go with their (expensive) treatment services, they returned my art on paper back. One piece had an exacerbated tear on paper greater than an inch. Another had a missing strip of original paper torn away. This cavalier treatment of the customers' paper art is unacceptable. Avoid having your valuable paper works sent in for treatment. You'll get it back in worse (damaged) condition than before. Unbelievable!

As we left we heard the woman say some snide remark, and then have a little chuckle with one of the other people who was working there.
