I had the lunch special on Monday, December 18th. My first time in the Zodiac Room with a friend. I ordered a Coke from the waiter initially, and he in turn brought me Iced Tea. My friend said "I heard her order a Coke", the waiter replied I heard he say Iced Tea. I said never mind, I will take the tea. When the lunch special arrived, it was too under cooked for my taste. I asked the waiter to take it back to be cooked thoroughly, he replied "it will take a while b/c this is lunch time and they are busy". (no customer service skills). He returned 3 minutes later with the same consistency of meat, so I ate around it, some kind of potato cauliflower mush, not good at all. I asked the waiter to put it in a carry out container that I would cook it when I got home. I think I was given a bone with a scrape of meat on each side less than 1/16th of an ounce. Waiter brought the container with no carry out bag, so I asked for a bag and was told they only had very large bags, I replied bring it anyway. The service/preparation was not worth a $58.00 lunch + tip. Food was bad, Service was bad. Maybe b/c I am African American. I live 2-blocks from the Zodiac and won't visit again.
I recently visited Chicago, and I stopped in to the Neiman Marcus store located there just to look around. It's such an icon of American culture, so I had to see it. It was one of the nicest experiences I've ever had while shopping. I liked shopping there much better than Saks 5th Avenue or Nordstrom because the Neiman's sales clerks were very friendly, down-to-earth, and gracious. Neiman has the finest merchandise, and also some good sale items. I found racks of clothes and shoes that were discounted up to about 50% off! I was just treated very nicely by employees, and that made it so enjoyable. However, they only accept American Express, Neiman Marcus cards, and cash, so don't bother bringing a Mastercard or Visa card with you.
