Overview
The fact that one must ring a doorbell and wait for a guide to answer the front door aptly underscores the quaintness of this museum. Built in 1873, this little cottage of history offers a rare peep at life during the Victorian era. Its rooms are meticulously filled with ornate chairs, high-back sofas, rose-colored drapery and "wow-look-at-that" marble fireplaces. There is even a children's room filled with small furniture and antique dolls which have those creepy, staring looks. Timings change post September.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 11:00 AM to 04:30 PMExciting history in a nutshell! What a great presentation by Ms Lakes! We were transported back through the early days of our state/nation on a fun and very respectful tour of our history. We especially appreciated this opportunity and were warmly welcomed even though we arrived shortly before closing time. Thank you for going above and beyond! We loved every minute with you and our journey through those early beginnings. Centennial Lanes Bowling team, Longmont Co
Our tour guide was enthusiastic as well as knowledgeable. The house is lovely and in immaculate condition. Original pieces from the family remain. Each room has a special story or piece our guide brought to life. A real hidden gem in downtown Colorado Springs.
We loved it. The house is unique, and the guide was very knowledgeable. She appeared to love her job there.
